Mission Statement
The purpose of the Sonoma Valley Jazz Society is to enhance the appreciation of jazz as an American musical art form through live jazz performances and education in Sonoma Valley. We bring together our community by providing an opportunity to see, hear and meet top quality Jazz artists. We also sponsor Jazz education for young aspiring musicans in our area.
Our main purpose is to promote Jazz and to provide the Sonoma Valley Community an opportunity to enjoy top quality Live Jazz without leaving Sonoma. We help promote jazz by sponsoring young musicans at the local Jazz Camp. We also have a great list of musicians from the Sonoma Valley and the greater Bay Area available for referral for your event - Call 707-373-0700

What We Do
We produce four FREE Outdoor Concerts every year which are held in the City of Sonoma Plaza Amphitheatre every second Tuesday, June through September, 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Presented in association with the Tuesday Night Farmer’s Market, this great family and community event attracts people of all ages who listen to and learn about America‘s true art form. Come on out, bring a picnic and enjoy some great live jazz.
If the nightclub scene appeals to you, we also present live jazz every Friday & Saturday evening in the Gallery Lounge at The Lodge at Sonoma. No cover charge, no drink minimum! If you traveled to the City or East Bay to listen to artists of this caliber, it would cost you at least twenty bucks just to get in the door! We won’t even mention gas, bridge toll and parking!
Furthermore, as co-sponsors of the annual Jazz Camp at the Community Center, we offer the opportunity for middle and high school students to receive instruction in jazz, coached by experienced jazz professionals. The camp concluded with a concert on stage in Andrews Hall and additional performances during the Sonoma Fourth of July Parade, the July 8th, Farmer’s Market concert, and Sonoma’s City Party.
Why not become a member or sponsor and be an essential part of keeping jazz alive in our Valley?
