  • Mission San Francisco Solano 20 East Spain Street Sonoma, California, 95476 United States (map)

The Sonoma Valley Jazz Society in partnership with the Sonoma State Historic Parks proud to present an intimate evening with internationally acclaimed Brazilian guitarist and composer Guinga, performing live at the historic Sonoma Mission San Francisco Solano on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 7:00 PM. Doors open at 6 PM.

Recognized as one of Brazil’s most sophisticated and expressive musical voices, Guinga has earned global admiration for his intricate harmonies, lyrical depth, and genre‑defying compositions that blend samba, choro, jazz, and classical influences. His work has been recorded by legends including Elis Regina, Michel Legrand, Chico Buarque, and Clara Nunes.

This rare West Coast appearance offers audiences a chance to experience Guinga’s artistry in one of Sonoma’s most iconic and intimate settings. The Mission’s warm acoustics and historic character provide a perfect backdrop for an evening of profound musical storytelling.

“We are honored to bring an artist of Guinga’s stature to Sonoma,” said Jonathan Hsu of  the Sonoma Valley Jazz Society. “His music is deeply emotional, technically brilliant, and unlike anything else in the world of contemporary guitar.”
